Kosine
operates from a factory in the East Midlands, and specialises in
the development of small plastic components. The facility is not
a mass-production environment, but rather a means to bridge the
gap between an idea and a working product.
The emphasis is very much on keeping costs down and
finding simple ways to test out new ideas. This allows new inventions
to be rapidly developed in-house and assessed for commercial viability.
Prototype tooling is accomplished with 4-axis CNC
machinery, although designs are often simplified as much as possible
to speed things up. On-site injection moulding facilities allow
for quick test batches to be produced in a range of materials. Products
that look promising can then be test-marketed, and ultimately brought
into full-production.
Kosine's primary focus has so far been on internal
projects (such as the rapstrap),
but the company is often approached with third-party ideas for consideration.
Several are currently being worked on, and these and other projects
will be showcased on this website in the future.
