Company Profile

Kosine is the research & development company founded by Andy
Harsley to perfect his rapstrap
tie strip, a waste-reducing replacement for traditional nylon cable
ties.
Using some homegrown ingenuity, Andy rented a small factory in
his home town of Grantham, and kitted it out with secondhand machinery
bought off ebay. Within months, he was making his own products and
starting a long journey to reach the market.
After securing assistance from Japanese manufacturer Hitachi-Maxell,
Andy took his creation on BBC TV's Dragons' Den, and won the backing
of James Caan and Duncan Bannatyne.

The show was aired in August 2008, and Andy spent the following
year working with Maxell at their UK factory in Telford to setup
the fully-automated manufacturing systems required to mass-produce
the rapstraps.
This was completed in Summer 2009, and the rapstraps are now available
for purchase.
Meanwhile, Andy's company Kosine continues to work on developing
new versions of the rapstrap, along with many other research
projects.
